![]() ![]() These included storytelling, craft activities, Gaelic singing, music, food, natural history, fishing exhibits and Gaelic and Norse place names. Working in collaboration with the Caithness and Sutherland Countryside Rangers we programmed a series of workshops and activities for all ages. This includes a creel boat, creels and nets along with more unusual objects such as a dogskin bouy and a St Kilda Mailboat. We hold a number of interesting artefacts relating to the sea in general and fishing in particular. As fishing and the coast has influenced a significant part of our heritage and culture it was felt the Seashore Festival would be an excellent vehicle to explore this aspect of our heritage. The remit was to stage a Festival which would celebrate the history and culture of the seashore. Strathnaver Museum was invited to take part in the Seashore Culture and Heritage Roadshow in December 2013.
